Psychics have been around since the beginning of time. Given the abilities of some, it is no wonder that they have been involved with paranormal investigations. Psychic investigations are based on the ability of the psychic on hand. Some of us extend our energies out and search for other energies in a given area. From the energies we get images, words, and/or colors. Some psychics can hear the energies speaking to them. Others act as mediums and allow the energies to use their bodies to communicate with the living. Any of these methods can confirm the presence of the paranormal and what is known or unknown (and verifiable!) about the activity, energy and investigated site. I must disclose now that sometimes we DO perceive the messages incorrectly. We are human and it’s natural to want to decipher what we get before we pass it on, even though we really shouldn’t. Psychics a lot of times don’t understand what the significance of a message is and is merely to pass on that info to someone who would know what it means.
The biggest benefit to the psychic investigation is the ability to clear the site. Those whom are religious may opt for an exorcism. When I have assisted with clearings we have done our best to not forcibly remove energy. It feels like an eviction so we prefer that the energy feel comfortable and chooses to leave. That doesn’t mean that our method is better than an exorcism. It is best left up to site owner and psychic on what method is best.
The psychic community has had our fair share of fakes and crackpots. That is within the paranormal community and elsewhere. Thanks to these fakes, psychics are automatically faced with large doses of skepticism by almost everyone we encounter. It is completely understandable. For the most part, people don’t understand how a psychic works. These same people will wonder why Psychic Friend’s Network didn’t foresee bankruptcy. Maybe they did and didn’t tell anyone. Maybe no spirit felt the need to tell them. And of course, maybe they weren’t authentic. Then you have psychics who purposely study the history of a site pre-investigation and yet tell everyone they meet that they don’t know anything about the site. Miraculously they come up with some pretty hefty messages that are verifiable and it makes them look authentic. These are the hardest for us to deal with. Now, anytime I do an investigation psychically…..people will wonder if I studied before hand so I can tell them all these verifiable things and pump my ego some. For some people, they will always assume that a “psychic†does that. This all causes one major dilemma. Scientific ghost hunters don’t see the benefits of having a psychic on hand, they see someone fraudulent. Hopefully in due time, both sides will be able to coincide with each other and face no unnecessary scrutiny.
